Diamond Cable Aran Jumper – Work in progress

Diamond Cable Aran Jumper – Work in progress

I have 2 big knitting projects on the go at the moment. One of them is a diamond cable jumper for Mark in Aran. The pattern for it is easier than I thought it would be but it takes a little while to get the hang of it and there is lots of counting required. I love the double moss stitch between the diamond shapes and I also love the flocked wool I’m knitting with. I have been working on this since July 2012 among many other things and had to unpick quite a lot of it when I forgot the armhole shaping on one side on the front. This mistake is the reason I have not taken this jumper to my knitting group to work on since, it takes too much concentration to also have a good catch up with friends.

The other project I have been working on is something that I started about 6 or 7 year ago. I got a beautiful book with lots of different stitch patterns. I chose one that I liked and started knitting squares.  I chose the stitches for the other squares based on this one. There are 3 different square designs and I have been making them in batches of four. This project has been ideal for taking to knitting group, on the train and to stay with family over the festive season. I nearly have 36 squares knitted and not sure if I want to add more yet or not. I think I will do a crocheted edge for it to tie all the blocks together.
