Useful Sewing

Useful Sewing

With Christmas imminent much of my current crafting is secret until people have had their gifts so I will post about recent makes. One of the most useful things I have made are these bed pockets. They hang by the sides of our bed and hold books, magazines, my kindle and my specs case. The idea is from the book 101 Great Ways to Sew a Metre. This book has some great ideas which I am looking forward to making in future.

Pocket for a magazine and a book

The clever addition of some non slip rubberised fabric means this sits under the mattress without slipping and can hold a surprising amount of weight.

Space for my notebook, kindle, torch and specs case

I even know what I want to do with the left over fabric and binding – keep your eyes peeled for a future post!

  1. Can I have 2 please, they would be so useful for my iPad, as its takes up a lot of space on the bedside table. really cool Christmas pressie.

    • Consider the Christmas pressies sorted! Any particular colour scheme? I have just ordered some more non slip fabric for them 🙂 Also let me know the dimensions of the ipads and if you want any other pockets.

  2. They’re fab Emma! Might have to investigate that book xxx
