I really wanted to challenge myself with my knitting and I thought socks would be and ideal way to achieve this. There are so many skills I have leant through sock knitting including short row shaping, stretchy bind off and of course Kitchener stitch. I chose socks because I can easily work on them during my long commute (which I mostly use for crafting). I was on the second sock of my first pair on New Years Day, which was rather cold, wet and windy on Southsea sea front. I quickly became obsessed, socks are a lovely thing to knit and they are so warm and cosy to wear. I can’t wait for winter to arrive so that I can take advantage of having a good selection of hand knitted socks. I thought I would show case the results of my obsession all in one post. I hope you like the variety and colours I have chosen.

these are beautiful, and so rewarding. I think I knit a pair many years ago and your Great Grandma Spenceley used to knit her sons and Grandad socks every winter.Especially Grandad Jack as he suffered with cold feet. but the knitted woollen socks worked.

They are very rewarding. Mark loves them too and finds them much more comfortable than shop bought socks.
